Barry and Hefin
Barry Roberts
Barry is a Master Craftsman in Dry Stone Walling and also a national examiner for the Dry Stone Walling Association (examining
all levels including Master Craftsman). He has won numerous walling competitions, including legs of the national Grand Prix
and is acknowledged as one of the best wallers in Wales.
Barry worked for the National Trust for 16 years mainly supervising the construction of stone pitched footpaths and boundaries
on the Trust's estate on the mountains of Snowdonia and serving as a warden.
Hefin Huws
Hefin has been practising dry stone walling for 15 years and teaching it for several years. He is currently a tutor for Colleg
Harlech. He has won numerous walling competitions in North Wales.
Hefin worked for the National Trust for 6 years, constructing stone pitched footpaths and boundaries on the Trust's estate
on the mountains of Snowdonia, before setting up in business. He has also worked as a stonemason in Ireland covering a wide
range of stonemasonry work. As well as being an acomplished waller Hefin specialises in other stone masonry such as stone
cladding and traditional lime pointing.
